Biographical Sketches of Board Members

Natalie Vollrath is currently the Quality Assurance Manager for New Star Lasers in Roseville, where she also handles regulatory submissions and export issues. She was previously the Quality Manager for Biogeneral, Inc. in San Diego. She has been a member of ASQ since 1990 and is the Chair Elect for the Sacramento section as well as continuing on as the Audit Chair for the San Diego section. She holds the CQA, CQE, CSQE, and CMQ/OE certifications.



Sara Wohlfrom has a strong medical services back ground, starting 4 year in Pharmacy billing and moving on to Facility billing before being hired by Blue Shield of California (BSC). Sara began with BSC in 1985 in the Woodland site in Customer Service. She then moved on to train and audit of both Claims and Customer Service. Within BSC, Sara has participated 2 major company projects, the System Upgrade Training team and the Re-Engineering Training team. She then transferred to the Folsom site in 1994 as an Quality Auditor in Performance Measurement. In 2004, Sara transferred to BSC Internal Audit as a Senior Auditor, further enhancing her scope as a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).  Sara is currently the Secretary for ASQ Section 605.

Rob Saunders, CQMgr, CQE, CQA has been working in the quality field for over 20 years with experience ranging from a Dimensional Inspector, a Supplier Quality Engineer, to a Quality Manager. Due to the traveling Rob has had, he lacks encompassing the globe by the distance from the East bank of India to Shanghai, China. He relocated to Sacramento in the fall of 1999 and joined the Sacramento Section in February of 2000. When first arriving in Sacramento Rob was assigned to Hewlett Packard's, Americas Integration Center in Roseville as a Quality Engineer. He currently works at Delta Dental as a Senior Quality Analyst. Rob has served several volunteer positions with the section including Past Section Chair and Program Chair. Currently Rob serves ASQ as a Deputy Regional Director for Region 6, and the Certification Chair for the Sacramento Section. Rob is also involved in activities with California Council for Excellence, (CCE), who administers the California Awards for Performance Excellence and Sacramento Area Council for Excellence, (SacE), a regional council for CCE.

 Russ Whitney is currently a Quality Consultant in the Quality Office at Health Net Federal Services. He previously worked as a Senior Quality Engineer and ISO-9001 facilitator at L-3 Communications in Folsom. Prior to coming to the Sacramento area, Russ worked as a Quality Engineer with Pilkington Libbey-Owens-Ford in Lathrop, and then with Parker Hannifin O-Seal Division in San Diego. Educated at the University of Colorado as a Chemical Engineer, Russ was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and made several deployments as a Naval Flight Officer in carrier-based aircraft. In his last three tours, Russ was integral to the first implementations of the Navy's Total Quality Leadership approach.

Sue Collins is a long-time member of the ASQ Sacramento Chapter and has served on the board as the Education Chair for two years and Programs Chair three years.  She is currently the Chair Elect.  She has a dual expertise in Quality & Training and is an active member of and Past President for the Sacramento Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).   She has also served as a Malcolm Baldrige Examiner for the California State Quality Award Program. Sue is currently an Internal Quality Consultant working for Health Net Federal Services in Rancho Cordova where her primary focus is on Quality training and awareness and team implementation and facilitation.  Prior to Health Net, Sue worked for Delta Dental as a Training Supervisor. She was also a Senior Consultant for an Organizational Development and Quality Improvement Consulting firm where she spent six years serving both private and public sector clients specializing in consulting and training in Quality, Continuous Process Improvement, Customer Service, Teambuilding, Leadership, Ethics & Values and Personal Development. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA. She is a Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) with ASQ.  She also recently completed ASQ’s Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for Healthcare certification program and is studying for the Six Sigma Black Belt Exam.

Teresa Lanta has 21 years of experience in corporate and operational finance and accounting. She is a Manager of Budgeting, Analysis, Reporting for Delta Dental of California Federal Services Division. She manages the preparation and analysis of the corporate budget and related financial reports. Teresa monitors business practices and reviews all formal deliverables under the Federal contract. She develops financial data in support of contract proposals and contract changes/modifications. Teresa also administers and oversees Delta’s compliance with the Small Business Subcontracting program. She is a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). She is currently the Audit Chairperson for the Sacramento Section 0605.

Terrie Madruga has been working in the quality and manufacturing field for over 31 years. She has worked with Agilent Technologies and Hewlett Packard with positions ranging from Semiconductor Manufacturing Supervisor, Quality Management Internal Auditor, ISO-9000 Lead Auditor and Quality Systems/ Customer SatisfactionManager. She was also was a member of the World-Wide Quality Management Team while with Agilent Technologies. She relocated to Sacramento in the spring of 2003 and joined the Sacramento ASQ Section 605 in June of 2003. She is currently the Quality Manager for the Federal Services Division of Delta Dental in Rancho Cordova. Terrie serves ASQ as a Webmaster for the ASQ605 chapter.

Kristi J. L’Amoraux has been a member of the Sacramento section for 16 years and served as a DRD on the Region 6 Board from 2002 – 04.  She has been a senior examiner for the California State Quality Award Program, 1995 – 2000.  Kristi is currently an Internal Quality manager for Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics division based in Emeryville.  Her responsibilities include regulatory and technical training, communications, project management and process improvement. Prior to Novartis she worked for AirTouch and Pacific Bell as an internal Quality consultant managing continuous improvement training and facilitating QITs. She has a B.A. in English Literature, a California teaching credential and an M.A. in Human Resources and Organizational Development. She is a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence with ASQ.

James Crawford
  joined Delta in September of 2003 as a quality auditor and holds a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification and is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality. James is also qualified as a CAPE Examiner, through the California Council for Excellence. His previous experience was at EDS as an internal auditor and document controller for ISO certification, and an OPD Graduate at Electronic Data Systems. He was also a Team Leader in Computer Operations (Mainframe and Midrange).

Cully Massey   is a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and is currently a quality supervisor at Blue Shield of California (BSC). Cully has been with BSC for over 15 years and has been a member of ASQ since 2001. Cully has also volunteered as a board member for the last 4 years.  Cully served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years prior to BSC where he worked on a aircraft carrier as a structural mechanic on the aircraft.

Frank Naderi is currently the Quality Engineer for Genentech, Inc. in Vacaville. Frank has been working in the engineering and quality field for over 35 years. He has been a member of ASQ since 2006 and is the current Treasurer for the ASQ605 chapter. He has a M.S in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in State of California.
